You're not an exception

The best time to build your own audience list was 10 years ago. The second best time is now.

You're not an exception

Everyone thinks they are immune to Facebook bans... until it happens to them.

Then, when it hits them, and they're not prepared (they usually aren't), it can be a business killer.

I mean, it even happened to AppSumo. A company that spends over USD20 million on Facebook ads. The CEO (of a USD80 million company) had to go on the ground, calling people at Meta.

All these confirm one thing.

Stop building your business solely on Meta. Start diversifying. Building a business on Meta is like building on the side of a volcano – it can disappear anytime.

My friends are getting hit by the ban for no reason

10 months ago, I got disabled on Meta. I made a YT video about it. The video has received over 2,970+ comments, all saying the same thing. "I got banned, f*ck Meta".

When you get disabled, there's really nothing much you can do.

Apart from appealing or finding a recovery agency, the next best thing is to break Meta's TOS and start a new account.

Start building your own audience list

Use free email marketing platforms like Enginemailer or Mailerlite.

Not so you have an audience you can spam.

But a group of audience who have raised their hands up and said they're interested in hearing more from you.

If you're in Malaysia, consider using WhatsApp as a marketing channel. For example, if you're a pharmacist, maybe send a weekly health tip on WhatsApp. If you're a numerologist, maybe send weekly lucky numbers to your audience.

The challenge with email is that while it works, people in Southeast Asia are more used to conversing on WhatsApp.

These days almost everyone I talk to, will ask to shift to WhatsApp.

Get creative.

Just remember. No business is safe under Meta's monopoly.
