Positioning That Sells

Marketing is easy when it works.

Positioning That Sells

I've worked with plenty of businesses.

On some projects, marketing felt easy. On others, it felt like I was pushing a boulder up an endless hill.

In 2018, I marketed data science courses. It sold really well. We just ran preview webinars each week and people continued joining.

It's not that I was a marketing genius. But we got timing and positioning right.

It was the time when data science exploded. (Same for AI now). We positioned the course as a way for professionals to level up their career and demand bigger salaries. It wasn't marketed as some boring, techy "Learn the A-Z of data science" course.

And recently, we sold out Answer Engine 2025.

Not because we're geniuses. Again, we got the positioning right. We called it the first AEO event in Malaysia and used a little of FUD marketing.

Positioning starts by talking to customers and figuring out their inner demons – their fears, insecurities, hopes, desires and dreams.

Marketing should feel easy when positioning is right.

If marketing has felt difficult for you, I like to invite you to join me in a physical workshop next week, 10th Dec, where I'll help you work your positioning. While conferences are great for connecting, a workshop enables us to get to work.

You can get RM50 off with code 'ONEMORE' at checkout. Thanks for being a reader. The workshop is limited for the first 8 participants only.
