Your prospects judge you

We all do.

Your prospects judge you

Most people outsource their copywriting to AI.

How do I know this?

Because when I read their copy, it doesn't sound anything like them!

Last week, I saw an ad. Read the landing page. Joined the webinar. Then the person who shows up speaks and sounds different from his marketing messages.

Man, I feel cheated.

Copy isn't about writing perfect

It's about recognition.

Before even meeting you, your prospect is building a picture of you in their head. They judge (we all judge), from the photo, video, and yes... the copy you put out.

When you finally show up on a call or in person, and don't match their frame, they don't think... "hmm, slightly different".

They think, "Damn, I've been sold to".

Now, you have to earn back trust.

Well, what does real copy sound like? Here are two recent examples.

It's an outreach message, the grammar isn't even right! But I know Ben speaks like this.
What myfranchiseguide sends to new followers on IG. The photo is a little blur, so I'll rewrite it below.
Hi there.. so glad you're here.

quick question - who are you and what got you interested to connect?

p.s. this first message is automated to new followers but I read every single replies myself and every message after is directly from me 😄

No title case. Imperfect. But human, and sounds like her!

An AI model would have cleaned all that and made the copy perfect. And in all that cleaning, killed the magic.

Open the last of anything you've written today – email, social media post, landing page, ad...

Cut or rewrite every line you wouldn't say to a friend.

The goal isn't to sound perfect, but to sound like the person who will be showing up on the call (or in person).

The secret to more sales on WhatsApp

WhatsApp is the ultimate channel for sales. At least for us in Malaysia.

But most businesses send robotic, boring messages that get no responses. Then they blame the WhatsApp platform they use and enrol in yet another AI course to "automate WhatsApp selling".

It's never a system problem. Systems and automation just scale whatever you're doing.
