Have you seen people that post every day? They seem to have things to say, write, and share every day.

Don't they have to work?

Now and then I'll meet someone who'd ask me how I write and send an email every day on Daily CMO. How do you do it?

Today, I'll share how.

But before that, a quick one on Underdog Sales Con

Underdog Sales Con – is tomorrow!

Here's what we CANNOT promise: Laser lights, flashy intros, stage lights, and suits everywhere.

Here's what we CAN promise: A down-to-earth, intimate "sales masterclass" with lessons shared by practitioners, and a space to network and meet the best marketers & entrepreneurs.

The "secret" to posting every day.

There are many strategies, including the all-time "document, don't create" doctrine, made famous by Gary V.

Sounds good, but how do you actually do it?

Well here is what works for me

1 - You must entertain

Stop being a guru. Think of your content as infotainment.

That's how media companies like MrMoney grew. Peter, the main persona at MrMoney constantly reminds everyone that they are an edutainment channel. Just look at his YouTube banner

Your job is to entertain first and inform later.

Hard truth: If your content is boring, it doesn't matter how great it is. Nobody will consume it.

2 - Keep a story bank

How do you avoid staring at a blank page?

The "secret" many creators have is that they keep a story bank.

You don't have to complicate this. When I come across something interesting or inspiring, I pull out my iPhone and write notes. These go into a folder called "StoryBank" – although I use a bunch of other folders as well.

3 - You must tell stories

All of us buy through emotions and justify it with logic.

No wonder you're not inspiring action with your content – because all your content is doing is spitting out facts to people.

To get people to move – click the follow button, purchase a product, do something... you have to get them into an emotional state.

That's why focus on telling stories.

Stories help create an emotional connection with your audience.

4 - It's not about you

  • "What would people think if I said this"
  • "What would they say if I posted this"
  • "What if my family sees what I'm doing"

I get it. The first time you put yourself out there, it's scary.

But think about an amazing product or book you've read recently – that brought impact to you. Now, what if the creator of that had never created what they did, because they were afraid what people would think?

Truth is people are always going to say stuff to you, no matter how successful you are.

Focus on the people whose lives you're going to change.

Underdog Con: In-person or online

I know, I know. We've been shouting Underdog Sales Con.

Two updates:

#1 - Introducing a new speaker.

CJ Lee, co-founder of MOVE Private Fitness, a boutique personal training brand with 6 gyms in KL, Melaka, and Thailand – will share their sales system and strategy they use to scale their business.

#2 - We've made live-streaming available, again.

I recommend attending Underdog Sales Con in person. But if you can't be there physically, go for a livestream option.

We previously had some tech issues and thought to resort to recording only. However, thanks to the team from JAW Studio, our live stream will be going on as planned.
