Most people only pay for one AI tool (if any). So why would they subscribe to yours?

I sat down with an e-Commerce business owner last week. 

“How many AI tools do you pay for?”

Umm. I mean, I pay for the AI add-on in Loom… 

“No, how many AI standalone do you pay for?”

Exactly.

I was discussing with another friend, also at the table, about developing our own AI tool and charging a subscription.

When he stopped me and made me realize that the average user probably subscribes to only one AI tool – if they ever. What would make them want to subscribe to yet another AI tool?

Two ways from here:

  1. Create an AI tool as a complementary bonus to your main product or service. 
  2. Go ahead and create the AI tool you want. But don’t call it an AI app. Every SaaS app these days is expected to have AI development in it.
    1. META ads with AI creative optimization 
    2. Loom video with AI summaries
    3. Zoom with AI companion

AI is now an expected feature.
