A month ago – I tried launching a new workshop, got little response, and then slept on it.

Mistake.

I know I've often advised against it, yet this is a reminder that we're highly emotional beings. Most of the time, the bastard emotion that becomes the breaker of dreams is – fear.

The fear of rejection.

The fear of failing.

The fear of looking stupid.

That's the first hurdle to jump over.

Now, assuming you've conquered fear – what's next?

5 questions to ask when launching any product.

Save these questions. Use it as a checklist. Stick it to your wall, fridge, or computer.

Because I promise you. It's that important.

  1. Is it different from others? Is your product unique, or boring like 80% of products in the world?
  2. Are there lots of people who want it? Is there a hungry market for it?
  3. Does it solve a specific problem? Can your product "dominate" an entire niche? E.g. YKK, the zipper manufacturer, dominates 80% market share of zips. (Take a look at your zipper, like right now. It shows "YKK," right?)
  4. Can people quickly see what makes it special? This is key. Seeing is believing, and you'll need a visual cue.
  5. Do you have proof it works? This is the reason people put testimonials on sales pages.

#4 and #5 are key – often the deciding factor for conversions.

The power of proof

A solid proof is better than a compelling argument. Don't convince people that your product works.

Show them it works.
