The 6-year customer
It really does take that long sometimes.
I have a habit of tracking how customers become customers.
Where did they first see us? Were they on our email list? Do they follow us on social?
I dig through whatever I can find:
- Search their email in my inbox
- Check attribution sources on our marketing platform
- See if I recognize their name
Yesterday, I got curious about someone who registered for the AI Marketing Systems Workshop.
Searched their email. Found something wild.
They've been on my list since 2019.
2019.
That's 6 years of emails. Of posts. Of me somehow showing up in their radar, before they finally hit "buy."
Wow.
We think people buy fast. See the offer, feel the pain, just buy the thing, right?
But reality is different.
The people who buy from you have probably been watching you for months. Maybe years. They read your stuff. See your actions. Seen your wins. Observed how you handle losses.
Quietly deciding if you're the real deal.
The long game always wins
Every email you send isn't just for today's sale. It's building trust for the sale that happens 6 months from now.
Every post, every story, every ad, and lesson you share. It all compounds.
Your prospect is thinking: "Does this person actually know their stuff? Can they help me? Do I trust them? Do I want to do business with them?"
